Custom Harvesting
The custom harvesting program is an opportunity to see the beautiful country of the United States, all while operating new combine and technology. Get exposed to a large custom harvesting operation and learn the most efficient harvesting methods alongside general maintenance skills and commodity marketing.

Field Crops
The field crops training program will allow a participant to gain hands-on experience during the planting, growing, and harvest seasons and to learn the latest in fertilizer, pesticide, and herbicide applications. Field crop training programs will include the opportunity to operate farm machinery and have exposure to the latest farming technologies. Participants will also learn about new commodities, protection decisions, weed identification, commodity marketing, farm machinery maintenance and repair, harvesting, and post-harvest activities such as the drying of field crops.

Vegetable Production
Vegetable Production and Marketing interns and trainees will gain hands-on experience with seed propagation, planting, disease and weed control, irrigation and soil management, fertilizer usage, harvesting, packaging, and marketing. CAEP host operations grow a wide variety of vegetables, such as sweet corn, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, squash, carrots, broccoli, beets, etc.

The CAEP Apiary training program allows participants to gain skills and knowledge in the field of apiary production, which includes learning terminology, equipment operations, beehive nutrition, handling of beehives, surveying yards, hive management, how to extract honey, and preparing bees for winter. Bees play a vital role in agriculture, and participants will learn the importance of pollination for the agriculture industry.
